Kibera Elders Community Based Organization (KECBO) was founded with one simple but powerful belief: our elders deserve dignity, care, and love — no matter their circumstances.
In the heart of Kibera, one of Kenya’s most vulnerable communities, many elderly men and women face old age alone. Poverty, illness, neglect, and isolation often strip them of the care and respect they deserve. KECBO exists to change that story.
Who We Are
We are a community-led organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of elderly people living in Kibera. Rooted in compassion and driven by purpose, we walk alongside elders by offering emotional support, community connection, health access assistance, and advocacy.
KECBO is proud to be the first community-based organization in Kibera focused solely on elderly care, ensuring that those who built our families and communities are not forgotten.
